C Class 250 CDi BE AMG has taken me over 500 miles this week & still has fuel in  the tank. Very impressive fuel economy on the motorway at a constant 75 mph, of over 50 mpg. It also drives well, looks good & is more refined & comfortable than the smaller A Class I drove last week. Built to last too.

Have just had a new A Class on test for a week. It looks, feels & drives excellently & definitely has the ‘Wow factor. ‘ Any negatives ? It’s noisy inside the cabin, particularly on the motorway.

Post op & back in the saddle. I have tested Volvos V40 D2 & Hondas new CR-V 2.2 diesel this month & although very different, liked them both. If you want to regularly get 50 mpg from your motor the V40 D2 will work for you. If you have 2+ kids & an active lifestyle, the CR-V is hard to beat. AW.

The most surprising car I’ve driven this year so far is the Lexus GS450h. I love it. It looks like a pipe smoking oldie, but drives & performs like Didier Drogba !!. AW.

Last day in the Alfa Romeo MiTo Twin Air Distinctive. It looks fab in purple & is a hoot to drive. Very impressive on the motorway, where it’s at it’s quietest. I think the growling engine noise might be too much for some, particularly around town, where the larger engined 1.4 petrol or 1.3 diesel MiTo’s may be preferable. A full review will be added to the site later this week. AW.
